About Me
I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised there as a kid. Although I moved away for work for many years, I returned to Greater Cincinnati when I met and then married my wife Cindy 13 years ago. We raised our 4 children (Cierra, Danika, Jackson, and Brogan) just outside of downtown in Northern Kentucky.
I am CEO & Partner of M1 Data & Analytics, a Fort Lauderdale based Data as a Service firm.
For the past year, Gentry has been working with Marcus Lemonis, Star of the CNBC show "The Profit" on various projects and engagements. This included having served as Executive Vice President of Camping World Holdings. His focus during that time was realignment of their enterprise level design of consumer engagement and data strategies.
In 2017, Gentry & his longtime business partner Travis Robinson invested into a series of new ventures that all revolved around using data science, analytics, and machine learning to create new consumer engagement solutions.
From those investments came the partnership with Greg Ashe / M1 Data & Analytics. Together, they launched patent pending SmartPiXL and LocationIQ.
In 2005, Gentry founded the first of four automotive related data solutions companies: Xcelerated, DealerVault, ListCleanUp.com, and Authenticom. Those companies generated $25-million in annual sales under his leadership. In June 2015, Gentry sold his interests in the four, which had achieved total enterprise value of $52-million.
In 2001, he was recruited to Credit Acceptance and reported directly to Keith McCluskey and Don Foss in various leadership roles that helped the company take its stock from under $1 to $26.88.
Russ Gentry began his marketing career in 1998. He joined Autoweb in 1999 and was with them till the sale to Autobytel. Gentry was part of the team that went to ABT with the sale.
Gentry credits his business success to the experience and leadership training he received as a career fire officer. Russell entered the fire academy at 18, and rose to Battalion Chief at retirement. He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy at FEMA.
